Although The active phase of war happened in February of 2022, many would say that the real beginning for these events was the Orange Revolution that happened in Ukraine in 2004. That was the time when people of the country stood up in defiance against corrupted system and election fraud manipulations trying to put in charge pro-Russian leaders. Seeing this defiance brought up a sense of hope that after tumultuous soviet and post-soviet past, Ukraine might finally set foot on path of progress and prosperity it deserved. Unfortunately ever since, this path has been a hard one and Ukrainians have been paying the price for their freedom in blood and sacrifice.
But at the same time this was also when Ukrainians started reclaiming their pride and dignity as a nation that is no longer willing to accept the Russian ruling over them.
Inspired by events taking place during Russian aggression against Ukraine that started in 2022.
